Chippy Repair Pty Ltd ("Chippy", "we", "us") operates the website chippyrepair.com.au and a network of windscreen-repair kiosks across Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you book a repair, attend a kiosk, or sign up for a Repair Plan, we may collect:

• Name, email address, mobile phone number
• Vehicle details — registration, make, model, year, VIN
• Damage photographs and repair records
• Payment method information (handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor; we do not store full card numbers)
• Insurance details, if you choose to share them so we can prepare a reimbursement invoice
• Website analytics information — IP address, browser type, pages visited

Why we collect it

• To perform the repair you booked, including warranty look-up at future visits
• To process payment and issue your tax invoice
• To manage your Repair Plan membership and process renewals
• To send you service reminders and Repair Plan renewal notices
• To improve our website and services
• To comply with our legal obligations (tax, consumer law, road-safety records)

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Our payment processor (Stripe) — for processing transactions
• Our hosting and database providers (Supabase, Vercel) — for storing your account
• Your insurer — only if you ask us to submit a reimbursement claim on your behalf
• Law enforcement — where required by Australian law

How long we keep it

We retain your personal information for as long as your Repair Plan is active and for seven (7) years after your last interaction with us, for tax and warranty record-keeping obligations. After that we securely delete or de-identify the data.

Your rights

Under Australian privacy law you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of any inaccurate information
• Ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy has been breached
